 9 tourists injured in Qazigund accident

Nine Injured as Speeding Tempo Traveller Collides with Roadside Barrier on Jammu-Srinagar Highway.

Anantnag, Mar 20, KNT: At least nine passengers mostly tourists sustained injuries after a Tempo Traveller (PB01B7720) met with an accident in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday early morning. The mishap occurred in Nipora Mirbazar when the vehicle collided with a part of a roadside wall, causing extensive damage to its front portion.

Eyewitnesses said the impact was severe, triggering panic among the passengers. Locals and rescue teams swiftly responded, evacuating the injured and shifting them to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag for treatment.

Hospital sources confirmed that all the injured are receiving medical attention, though their condition remains stable.

Police have taken cognizance of the accident and initiated an investigation to ascertain the cause. (KNT)
