Handwara Police Organises Women’s Self-Defence Awareness Programme at GHSS Villgam

Handwara : In line with its commitment to community outreach and women empowerment, Handwara Police organised a comprehensive awareness programme on Women’s Self-Defence at Government Higher Secondary School, Villgam.

The programme was aimed at sensitising young women about the importance of self-defence and equipping them with the confidence and knowledge to protect themselves in adverse situations.On the occasion, police officers delivered awareness lectures, highlighting various safety measures and preventive techniques that women can adopt in their daily lives. They emphasised that self-defence is not just about physical strength, but also about awareness, confidence, and presence of mind.The officers also encouraged the students to stay alert, be proactive, and make use of available legal and institutional support whenever required.The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and staff, who expressed gratitude to Handwara Police for conducting such a relevant and empowering programme.
