DySP Among 4 Jawans Injured in Ongoing Kathua Encounter

Kathua, March 27 (JKNS): An officer among 4 jawans were injured during ongoing encounter between security forces and terrorists in the Juthana area of Kathua on Thursday.Reliable sources told news agency that security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area following specific inputs about the presence of terrorists.As the forces zeroed in on the suspected location, they came under heavy fire, leading to a fierce gunfight.During the exchange, SDPO Border DySP Dheeraj Katoch among 3 jawans sustained injuries. They have been shifted to a medical facility for treatment, they said.Intermittent firing is still ongoing, and additional reinforcements have been rushed to the spot. (JKNS)
