Grand “Har Ghar Tiranga” Rally Marks Beginning of Independence Day Celebrations in Srinagar.

Syed Sajid Hussain, Srinagar, Aug 12: As part of the nationwide Independence Day celebrations leading up to August 15, a vibrant rally under the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign was organized today in the heart of Srinagar. The initiative runs from August 12 to August 15 and aims to instill a strong sense of patriotism and foster unity among citizens across the country. The rally began at the iconic Clock Tower in Lal Chowk at 8:30 AM. It moved toward Pratap Park and returned to its starting point. The event saw enthusiastic participation from officers, subordinate officers, and personnel of the 132 Battalion and A/93 Battalion of the CRPF, SDPO Kothibagh and his staff, SHOs of Kothibagh and Maisuma police stations along with their teams, members of the media, local NGOs from Lal Chowk, and schoolchildren from Tyndale-Biscoe and Mallinson schools. Participants waved the tricolor and chanted patriotic slogans, creating a lively atmosphere that attracted the attention of passersby and drew more residents into the celebrations. Organizers noted that the large turnout showed the community’s commitment to honoring the nation and its symbols. Officials spoke at the event and highlighted the rally’s goal of encouraging the public to take part in patriotic initiatives and to spread awareness about the importance of the National Flag as a unifying symbol. The “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, an important part of the Independence Day program, urges every household to display the tricolor, turning the streets and skylines into a sea of saffron, white, and green. With the enthusiastic response seen in Srinagar today, organizers expressed confidence that this year’s celebrations will see unprecedented participation and national pride.
