MLA Sonawari Faces Backlash for Misbehaviour with Media Persons; Journalists Boycott Event

Sonawari : A scheduled event in Sonawari took an unexpected turn after MLA Hilal Akbar Lone allegedly misbehaved with media persons, leading to widespread condemnation from the local journalist community.

The MLA had initially invited media professionals through his PA to cover the event, but later misbehaved with one of its members. Witnesses say that soon after, he turned his anger towards journalists present at the venue, displaying arrogant behavior.The Sonawari Journalists Association strongly condemned the incident, calling the MLA’s conduct unacceptable. In a collective response, the association not only boycotted the event but also issued a public statement denouncing any form of misbehavior or shouting at media professionals, emphasizing that such treatment undermines the freedom and dignity of the press.The association reiterated its commitment to fair and unbiased coverage while demanding respect and accountability from public representatives.
