Sopore Police recovered Illicit timber and takes appropriate legal action

Sopore : Sopore Police recovered consignment of illicit timber at compartment no. 34 Buden Rafiabad in the jurisdiction of Police Station Dangiwacha.

A specific information was received regarding illicit timber smuggling and accordingly, a police party of PS Dangiwacha led by SHO PS Dangiwacha Insp. Aijaz Ahmad alongwith forest department, conducted raid at the specific location. During the raid, the police party recovered a total of 76 Square feet of illicit timber (Deodar) from the spot,However, the accused persons involved has been identified as 1. Javaid Ahmad Mir S/O Ghulam Ahmad Mir 2. Ehsan Ahmad Parray S/O Mohammad Maqbool Parray 3. Ghulam Mohammad Mir S/O Abdul Satar Mir and 4. Wali Mohammad Mir all the residents of Dachanipora Rohama Rafiabad took the advantage of darkness and fled from the spot.In this regard, case FIR No. 32/2025 under relevant sections of law in Police Station Dangiwacha has been registered and investigation has been set into motion. Sopore Police would like to earnestly appeal the general public to co-operate with the law enforcement agencies in the battle against crime.
