 Surinder Choudhary Urges Youth to Take Inspiration from Martyrs in Fight Against Drug Menace

Kathua, March 23: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary called upon the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to draw inspiration from the sacrifices of martyrs like Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev in the fight against drug abuse. Speaking at a gathering at Ram Leela Ground on Martyrs’ Day, he emphasized the importance of resisting the growing drug menace and learning from its devastating effects in neighboring states. He urged the younger generation to adopt constructive lifestyles, stay away from substance abuse, and contribute positively to society. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Former MP and Minister Lal Singh, Former MLA and Minister Babu Singh, and Former MLA and Minister Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma.Highlighting the government’s commitment to tackling social evils, Choudhary stressed the need for collective action against drug trafficking, particularly in border districts like Kathua. He called on society to unite against this crisis and reaffirm India’s rich heritage upheld by Saints, Rishis, Peers, and Faqirs. Addressing concerns about illegal mining, he assured strict action against violators, stating that the government will not tolerate the exploitation of resources. He also inspected the ongoing construction of the Juthana Bridge, a significant infrastructure project aimed at improving connectivity for thousands of residents.During his visit, Choudhary also addressed local grievances about water logging on the Sanji Morh-Khanpur road. In response, he directed the relevant authorities to construct a proper drainage system in consultation with the community. Reaffirming the government’s commitment to infrastructure development and transparency in public works, he encouraged citizens to actively participate in building a progressive and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir.
